The North East Design Review and Enabling Service (NE DRES) provides expert and impartial advice to Local Authorities, Developers and Designers. The Panel comments on scheme proposals and strategic documents within the 12 Local Planning Authorities in the North East.
To date NE DREShas commented on over 80 schemes in the region and over £1 Billion worth of proposed development. The Panel has provided expert advice to award winning schemes in the region including the recent RIBA award winning Toffee Factory.
John Devlin, Chair of the Design Review Panel said:

“This is an opportunity for design and built environment industry leaders to give their expertise and experience in order to improve the quality of development in our region.”
“We are looking for people who are committed to good design from a wide range of disciplines. Specifically we are seeking people with expertise in architecture and urban design, as well as experts in landscape, historic environment, engineering, the arts, planning, infrastructure and development delivery.”
Applications and appointments are overseen by an independent Advisory Board to protect the integrity of the process.
NE DRES is seeking 10 – 15 Panel Members from whom a Vice-Chairperson will be appointed.
